Meet Philippe Marquis, freestyle skier
Philippe Marquis is an Olympic freestyle skier (moguls) from Quebec City. He has been competing since 2008 when he won rookie of the year for moguls at FIS World Cup. His first Olympic Games were in Sochi in 2014, when he became the second Olympic athlete in his family. His older brother, Vincent, also a freestyle skier, came fourth in Vancouver at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Why is physical literacy important for kids?
Because it helps people understand the positive impacts of being active. It develops their motor skills, improves their confidence and competence. It also enables individuals to make healthy, active choices that are both beneficial to and respectful of their whole self, others, and their environment.
