Should I enrol my 6-year-old in summer hockey?
Q: Should I enrol my 6-year-old in a summer hockey league?
Probably not.
Even a young Wayne Gretzky knew that he needed to take a break from hockey at the end of a season. It gave his body a chance to recover and it gave his brain a chance to think about something else.
He spent his summers playing baseball and lacrosse. Both sports enhanced his hand-eye coordination and while playing lacrosse, he learned how to dodge checks.
When fall arrived, he was excited to get back on the ice again. And we know how things turned out for Wayne.
