Active for Life and 60 Minute Kids’ Club create partnership for physical literacy

Active for Life and 60 Minute Kids’ Club are excited to announce their new partnership to deliver a suite of online physical literacy resources for parents, coaches, and teachers. Because physical literacy is so important to the health of kids everywhere, these resources are being offered absolutely free.

Here are some of the shared resources that parents, educators, caregivers, and program leaders will be able to access through our Resources page at Active for Life:

  • Active for Life lesson plans: Each of these simple PDF teaching plans describes a warm-up, demonstration, practice, and game to teach a specific fundamental movement skill (FMS) to groups of children. They download and print easily.
  • 60 Minute Kids’ Club physical literacy assessment tracker: These videos depict each fundamental movement skill (FMS) at the emerging, developing, acquired, and accomplished stages so you know what to look for if you are assessing a child’s abilities in each FMS.
  • Physical literacy activation resources: This is the portal through which teachers and schools can connect with organizations offering in-service physical literacy education.

Together, Active for Life and 60 Minute Kids’ Club are able to provide parents, educators, caregivers, and program leaders with even more support towards creating an active, healthy Canada.
