All across Canada, parents are asking each other, “what are your kids doing this summer?” Though some of you may have worked this all out while there were still Christmas lights up and snow pants hanging by the front door, many of us are still figuring out our summer plans. And it can be a daunting task, complete with spreadsheets, calendars, and cross-referencing work and vacation schedules. If you find yourself looking for camps to keep your little ones busy, fear not, we’ve done all the research for you. Below you will find options for great active camps in every province. Info: Stryker Sports Volleyball and Basketball Camps focus on developing players’ game skills as well as fostering their personal growth as team players. Info: This amazingly unique camp offers programs in hockey, ringette, mountain biking, and sport and adventure. Winsport Camps truly get your kids moving. Camp: Talisman Centre Summer Sports Camps
Info: Kids from 4 to 17 can take part in multi-sport or sport-specific camps in half-day or full-day sessions. Kids registered in multi-sport camps will participate in a variety of co-operative games and structured activities such as swimming and yoga. Sport-specific camps include water polo, badminton, swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, dicing, and synchronized swimming. Pre- and post-camp care are complimentary, and girl-only camps are available.

Info: At various locations around Edmonton, kids refine, rehearse and repeat skills with plenty of creative exploration and fun. Camp: YMCA Day Camps
Info: YMCA Day Camps offer children and youth the opportunity to participate in fun and engaging activities. Camps are designed to spark their imagination,  as well as build confidence, independence and communication skills. Activities for kids 3 to 16 include swimming, cycling, dancing, learning circus skills, and going on scavenger hunts. There are various locations throughout the city.

Info: With the goal of having kids exploring, engaging and ultimately excelling in sports, the U of A gives kids the opportunity to have fun while participating in a variety of sports. Camp: YMCA Camp Kannanaq
Info: Camp Kannanaq offers school-aged children and teens an exciting summer camp experience that focuses on fun, adventure, learning, and creativity in a safe and cooperative environment. Ontario

Campers in Ontario have so many great choices. The Ontario Camping Association (OCA) takes care of a lot of research for you. Member camps must adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision, and quality programming. All OCA camps must comply with all relevant provincial and federal government legislation and often go beyond these standards. Guidelines cover all aspects of camp, including site, facility, health and safety, food service, water quality, program, transportation, management, and staff hiring and training. The OCA continually reviews and revises their standards and camps are visited for re-accreditation on a regular basis. See the OCA site for their list of accredited camps.

Burlington:

Camp: Monkeynastix Summer Camp

Info: RKY Camp, founded by the Kingston Rotary, Kiwanis, and YMCA, has been providing fun and safe camp experiences for over 85 years.
